J is 'Free as in Beer' again, but A+ is still 'Free as in Speech' 
and I'm more comfortable with that, so I'm looking at A+ again.  Thanks to John Mizel for help getting the KAPL font working with Xemacs on my new laptop.

Has anyone compiled A+ as a 64 bit application on the AMD64?  I'm thinking that dual Opteron (or Athlon 64 MP) system would make a rather good, low cost compute server.  The 64 bit address space would allow larger mapped files and the AMD64 seems to be fast with both 32 bit and 64 bit applications.
