Very good! So, you look to be the 1-st person to run A+ in xemacs on
OS X! I tried this about an year (or 2?) ago, but unsuccessfully.

May you please compile a brief HOWTO with al steps and system
requirements? Like base OS X + X11 (from Apple?) + xemacs (where
from and howto installed) + aplus + something from our discussion.
It would be very useful and I hope John publish this HOWTO on
aplusdev.org.

OK. Language itself is the easy issue to comparison to installation and
configuration
