Hello Lars,

You want to use openGL/VTK rather than the built-in X11 interface for 
A+?

My first thought would be to write routines in A+ to send your data to 
another process that implements your openGL/VTK visualizations.  I.e. 
you would have a program running that accepts connections from A+ where 
the A+ side would say - "draw this", here is the data.

That is, if I understand you correctly.
