Oh, it's quite possible.  I know of one that was built in A+ because
no existing commercial database had anywhere near the necessary
performance that the application required.  The full version of that
is too entangled with the application to be extracted easily, but T
and LT (lightweight T, missing the callbacks and some of the
dependencies for efficiency reasons) could be made available if MS
agrees.
