Until very recently there were not free as in libre versions of X,
however, I will say that when 'xplatform' means I have to basically
install a whole other operating system on top of the one I am running that
is 'doesnt count'.
For example if installing cygwin to get a 'unix' environment on windows in
order to Xwindows and such is a requirement to get A+ to work in GUI mode
on windows then yes 'technically' you are crossplatform, but PRACTICALLY
you are not. (at least not for the business environments I consult in)
To me I was really speaking in a different light. I was trying to make
the point that A+ could be used to make a nice OLAP engine, but that most
people that would USE it have NO desire to use A+. In order to meet their
needs if you gave them an front end that was in a more 'common/familiar'
language that let them leverage the 'strengths' of A+ you would be well
served. Perhaps its not feasible. (Basically in reply to someone elses
email, I wasnt requesting an A+ version of wxWindows (though that might be
valuable), but rather use wxPython to write a front end to an OLAP data
store written in A+.
