[aplusdev] Building A+ With GCC 3.0?

I just tried building A+ 4.18 with GCC 3.0.1 and configure chokes when
it gets to the C++ compatibility check.  Has anyone else tried this and
got different results? 

I've built PostgreSQL 7.1 and Xemacs 21.1 with the new GCC, but I
believe they are strictly ANSI C.  Is anyone looking at GCC 3.0
compatibility for A+?
