I learned APL in college in 1983, fell in love with it, and was delighted to
see the recent release of A+. However, I feel that the APL community could do
a lot more to attract new programmers to it. I believe that if a more
substantial effort was made to welcome the sorts of folks who loll about all
day, reading the latest freshmeat entries, the effort would be rewarded.
Online tutorials would make a big difference. And charming as APL fonts are, a
more intuitive ASCII mapping, perhaps modelled on J, would remove a
significant obstacle.
Just my two cents!
