I would love to myself but GUI programming is way outside my areas of
expertise. I wonder where we would look for such folks. From what I
gather on comp.lang.apl, APL is not a young man's programming language
(typically, I started with it in 1967 or thereabouts) and the young'uns
are mostly the ones with the GUI facility and the energy for big open
source projects. Heavy sigh.

What I am dying for is a framework for developing a library equivalent
to Matlab's DSP toolkits within a sane language but it must run on
PC's. With such a capability I think that many DSP folks, and there are
a lot of them, could be lured into APL (read A+) land who might not
otherwise be willing to give it a look. To get this language cooking
(again) we need a modern "killer app" and a comprehensive DSP package
would go a long way toward that. From there I think the word could
spread like wild fire. Everything people like about Matlab is done
better in APL/A+ and then some.

P.S. Brian, replying to mail from the list sends it to you personally
unless I edit the To: line.
