So the GUI would be too mcuh work to port to Windows. Fair enough.
How hard would it be to port the core, though? I/O and inter-process
communication might create some work for the porter but all in all
it should not be in the same league at all as a full port.

Such a "core port" would be quite useful. MSDW is a very special
place if even end-users there (e.g., traders) are still Unix-based ;)
