I'm not familiar with the Erlang project.  To the best of my knowledge
there's been no PR at all from MSDW.  A+ is being made freely available
but we're not hyping it.  I'm not sure what open-source really is. I
suppose it depends on the license if there is one.  C and C++ compilers
were freely available to a limited audience from Western Electric
as were a number of intereters.
