I agree with your assessment.  Since 1993 we have had about 70 internal
releases of A+.  Most of the interpreter development in recent years has
involved optimizing for specific architectures and other porting efforts.  
There has been a lot of activity in the A+ screen api and writing
interfaces that are dynamically loaded into A+.

I'll also let the A+/K experts comment on the differences between the
two languages.
